Entry criteria and cost


Agent of the Year

To enter these awards you must be UK based and your main activity must be selling wine to the UK trade.

There are two sub-categories for these award, they are:
  • Small Agent of the Year - agencies with 10 employees or less
  • Large Agent of the Year – agencies with 11 employees or more
Entry cost: £150 + VAT per sub-category


Business Excellence Awards

To enter these awards you must be UK based

The three sub-categories are:

  • Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Innovator of the Year
  • Wine Educator of the Year
Entry cost: £150 + VAT per sub-category


Consumer Campaign of the Year

To enter this award your campaign must meet the following criteria:

  • This award is for a single campaign or event in 1 year
  • The campaign or event must be fully or partially funded by a governing body supporting wine from a specific country or region
  • The campaign or event must have taken place in the UK
Entry cost: £150 + VAT


Convenience Store Chain of the Year

To enter this award you must be a convenience store, defined as a national or regional chain of small ‘local’ stores whose main activity is convenience grocery. There must be a minimum of 30 stores nationally. Each store must have at least 80% of their wine range/allocation managed centrally. The wine range must have a minimum of 60 SKUs.

Entry cost: £150 + VAT


National Merchant Awards

The National Merchant Awards have three sub-categories to cover all areas of the UK high street.

Sub categories and entry criteria:

High Street Chain of the Year
  • You must have at least 15 retail outlets
  • You must be based in the UK
Small Independent Merchant of the Year
  • Ownership of the business must be privately held
  • You must have 1 - 3 retail shops located in the UK and less than 20 members of staff
Large Independent of the Year
  • Ownership of the business must be privately held
  • You must have 4 – 15 retail shops located in the UK or over 20 members of staff
Entry cost: £150 + VAT per sub category


On-Trade Supplier of the Year

To enter this award you must be UK based and sell wine to the UK on-trade.

Entry cost: £150 + VAT


Online Retailer of the Year

To enter this award you must be UK based and only sell wine via the internet and mail order.

Entry cost: £150 + VAT


Regional Merchant Awards

To enter these awards you have at least one retail store in the UK. You can enter multiple award categories if you wish to nominate your business as a specialist in more than one region. It is important that you prepare a unique presentation of supporting material for each entry.

Entry cost: £75 + VAT per region


Specialist Merchant Awards

To enter these awards you must be UK based. You can enter a maximum of four (4) specialist regions. You must submit a unique presentation for your supporting material for each specialist region.

Entry cost: £75 + VAT per specialist region


Supermarket of the Year

This award is open to all UK regional and national supermarkets.

Entry cost: £250 + VAT


Wine List of the Year

To enter this award you must be UK based and sell wine to the UK market.

Entry cost: £150 + VAT


Entries will open on the 20th February.
